We are Off to a Great Start in 2010

January 8th, 2010
Hello to all of you. I pray that your week has gone well and that you have stayed warm with the cold upon us. I was really excited about last week’s attendance in church. We had 140 to 150 in attendance, which is the largest attendance that we have had since being in our building and this was with twenty plus of our regular church members out. We had a number of guest in attendance this past Sunday and with such a large number of guest I want to remind all of us that it is all of our responsibilities to make each guest feel welcomed and at home. We can simply do this by speaking to them, shaking their hands, ask their name and tell them how glad you are to see them. After church you can tell them again that it was good to have them worship with us. The best thing that we can do is to make people feel like they belong, that they are part of us. Keep up the good work.
I know that this year holds great things in store for our church family and I want each of you to be a part of what the Lord is doing. I want us to prepare our hearts and minds to see great things happen in this New Year. In this new year I want us to see more men, women, boys and girls accept Christ. I want to see more baptisms. I want to see all of our church family find a place of service in our church. I want to see all of our financial needs met. I want to see us grow in Christ, and I want heaven fuller and hell emptier. I think we can see all of these happen if we start now preparing our hearts and minds and begin to pray how God can use us to accomplish these goals.
We are going to begin a Royal Ambassadors program for the boys of our church. This program will be for boys in the first grade through the 6th grade. R.A.’s is the combination of scouting and bible study. We will teach the boys how to do things like: knot tying, how to start a camp fire, how to cook over a fire, how to read a map correctly, how to build different things, etc. This program will be supervised by David Jalovec and it will begin January 27 at 6:30pm at the church. If you would like to volunteer to help David please let us know. If we have some ladies who would want to start a similar program for the girls please let me know.
We will be hosting a free financial seminar at the church on January 19 at 7pm. Glen Vecchio who is a church partner and an Edward Jones financial planner will be hosting this seminar. The intent of this seminar is to help you make your financial future clearer by getting a better understanding of loans, credit, debt, borrowing and credit scores. Come out on this evening and learn how you can impact your financial future. Please let us know if you are interested in attending this free seminar.
I want all of you to know what our Inclement Weather plans are if we happen to have snow or ice on a Sunday morning. Our plans are to have church but only one service at 10:45am if the snow or ice is not too bad. If the snow and ice are extremely bad we will not have church. I will do my best to have the church doors open for those who wish to worship. If there are questions you can always call or email.
In closing I want to encourage you to invite somebody to come with you to church, it might just be what they need and are looking for in their lives. I look forward to seeing all of you this coming Sunday in church. Let us come together and worship our Lord.
