Important Dates & Events to Remember
August 20th, 2010
Hello to all of you. I hope and pray that all is well with you and your family. I want to share some details on events that are going on at church. The first matter is that this week we will be baptizing after the 10:45 service time. If you need to be baptized please let me know as soon as possible. If you have not followed the Lord in believers baptism I want to encourage you to make this a matter of priority in your spiritual life.
Back to school is upon us! It seems like the summer went by so fast. As school starts back we have some important dates to remember.
Ministry Vision Fellowship-this Sunday evening at 5:30- join us this Sunday at 5:30 as I share my vision for where the Lord is leading us this fall. Stay after for a time of fellowship and food. Please bring a finger food with you on this evening to share with your church family.
Aug 29-Back to School Sunday-We are going to pray over our children and teenagers as they begin a new school year. As a church we are going to make the commitment to keep them in our prayers and to support them.
Sept 12-Back to Church Sunday-This is a national campaign that encourages church members to invite unchurched people to come to church with them and to get back in church on a regular basis. Eight million people leave church annually. Fifty percent of these people would come back to church if they were invited by someone they know. Let us do our part to invite our friends, neighbors, family and co-workers to join us on this day.
Kids Beach Club-This is a one day a week after school program for those children in Hughes Elementary. We are in need of volunteers to get trained and to help get this club off the ground. We need five to seven volunteers who can help for one hour a week for a fun, high energy program that teaches children about Jesus. We are also looking for donors to help us raise the necessary $2500.00 for this program. Let me know if you can help with this.
Operation Christmas Child-This past week was our first week in collecting items for the boxes. This week’s item was plastic shoe boxes Next weeks item will be toothpaste. There will be a box in the foyer area to place these items. Last year we assembled 117 boxes this year we would like to set our goal at 140.
The Promise- This Sunday is the last day to turn in money for The Promise.
In closing I want you to pray for one another and pray for the youth as they will be going this Sunday after church to visit some elderly at a local nursing home. If you want to participate with them please feel free to contact Pastor Jeremy.
I look forward to seeing all of you this coming Sunday.

Hal Helton
