Service Time this Sunday

Time.Clock.BigJuly 2nd, 2010

HHi! I hope you have had a great week this past week. I have been suffering from the post Vacation Bible School blues. It was such a great week last week and all of our volunteers did such a great job under the direction of Kelly Hickman and Martha Bailey. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to seeing our boys and girls know about Jesus. They along with our teenagers are our greatest mission field. I want to remind you that when we do events like VBS and camps, where we invest in the spiritual lives of children and youth, we are putting up treasures in heaven. To get a glimpse of what I am talking about follow this link to a Ray Boltz song called “Thank You” it will bless you.

Let me issue a word of warning at this time. Any time that a church or a Christian has a mountain top experience like we had last week with VBS Satan is out to change that mountain top experience into a dark valley. I have seen this in the past in our church and in others. Any time that a revival spark is lit Satan knows that his best chance of keeping this spark from becoming a wildfire is to put it out when it is small. The tool that he will use to put this spark out is, now get ready for this and prepare yourself, the tool that he will use to put this spark out is……. you and me. That is right, you read it correctly! He will use you and me to get mad at each other, to gossip, to back bite, to make fun of, ridicule, mock, become overly sensitive, self centered, etc. You get the point, I hope. Now is the time in your Christian life and in the spiritual life of our church for you and me to grow and go on the offensive. If you feel that You are the one that Satan is using to quench this spark I would ask you to stop, bow your head and in a prayerful manner pray to God and ask forgiveness and change the direction that Satan is attempting to lead you. Now is not the time for us to faint or fall by the wayside but now is the time for us to march on. Let’s get to marching.

This Sunday we will be celebrating the Independence of our Country as a church with one service at 10am. We are going to have lunch on the grounds so bring a covered dish large enough to feed your family and a few more. The church will be providing the meat. We will have a great time together. Don’t forget that our service will begin at 10am.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday morning at 10am as we celebrate the blessings of God on our country. Come and let us join together as Americans and as Christians. See you then.

Anchored in Christ,

Hal Helton
Lead Pastor
